Dreaming is a state of consciousness that is intermediate between sleep and waking. We are usually not aware that we are dreaming, and our dreams can be very bizarre. We may have dreams that are so realistic that we believe they are actually happening.
4. coma
A coma is a state of unconsciousness in which a person is unresponsive to their surroundings. A person in a coma cannot be awakened, and they may not be able to communicate. They may be able to breathe on their own, but they will not be able to respond to simple commands. Comas can be caused by injury, disease, or drugs.
5. vegetative state
A vegetative state is a state of consciousness in which a person is awake but not aware of their surroundings. 6. minimally conscious state
